We now have an opening for a Front of House Team Leader.
We are looking for someone with Front of House experience to join our small, tight nit front of house team and help deliver our specific El Planta experience night after night.
For the last seven years, we've been serving thoughtful Mexican-inspired food, agave spirits, great wine, and genuine hospitality from our little corner of South Brisbane.
We're passionate about creating memorable experiences for our guests, building a workplace people genuinely enjoy being part of, and contributing positively to Brisbane's hospitality scene.
As we continue to grow, we're looking for an exceptional Front of House Leader to help guide our team and uphold the standards we're known for.
This role is perfect for someone who loves hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and leads from the front. Someone who can bring energy to a busy service, support and develop a team, and make every guest feel like they're exactly where they should be.
About the Role
As Front of House Team Leader, you'll work closely with the leadership team to ensure every service runs smoothly from start to finish.
You'll be responsible for coordinating the moving parts of the restaurant each day—supporting the floor team, liaising with the kitchen and bar, maintaining service standards, and helping create the warm, welcoming atmosphere that El Planta is known for.
This is a hands-on leadership role, spending the majority of your time on the floor, supporting your team and delivering exceptional guest experiences.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support the front-of-house team during service.
- Deliver exceptional table service and create memorable guest experiences.
- Run pre-service briefings and help set the tone for successful shifts.
- Ensure service standards, venue presentation, and guest experience expectations are consistently met.
- Work closely with the kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth communication and service flow.
- Assist with training, and developing team members.
- Maintain menus, POS systems, and daily operational procedures.
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and inventory management when required.
- Handle guest feedback and resolve issues with professionalism and care.
- Support opening and closing procedures and overall venue operations.
- Be a custodian of El Planta's values, culture, and hospitality standards.
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a front-of-house leadership, or senior service role.
- Strong table service experience in a restaurant environment.
- Solid bar knowledge and experience, including cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits.
- A genuine passion for hospitality and creating great experiences for people.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to remain calm, organised, and positive during busy services.
- Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
- Availability to work evenings and weekends.
- Someone who enjoys being part of a close-knit team and contributes positively to workplace culture.
