We now have an opening for a Front of House Team Member. 

We are looking for someone with Front of House experience to join our small, tight nit front of house team and help deliver our specific El Planta experience night after night.

For the last seven years, we've been serving thoughtful Mexican-inspired food, agave spirits, great wine, and genuine hospitality from our little corner of South Brisbane.

We're passionate about creating memorable experiences for our guests, building a workplace people genuinely enjoy being part of, and contributing positively to Brisbane's hospitality scene.

As we continue to grow, we're looking for an exceptional Front of House Member to help guide our team and uphold the standards we're known for.

This role is perfect for someone who loves hospitality, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and leads from the front. Someone who can bring energy to a busy service, support and develop a team, and make every guest feel like they're exactly where they should be.

About the Role

As a Front of House Team Member, you'll be an important part of creating the warm, welcoming experience that El Planta is known for.

You'll work alongside the FOH and kitchen teams to ensure each service runs smoothly, from setting up the restaurant and welcoming guests through to service, clearing, cleaning and closing.

You'll be hands-on throughout service, supporting your teammates, communicating clearly, maintaining our service standards and making sure every guest feels looked after.

We're looking for someone who is friendly, reliable, proactive and enjoys working as part of a team. You don't need to be a leader — but you should take pride in your work, be willing to learn and always be ready to jump in and help where needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, friendly and attentive table service, creating memorable guest experiences.
• Work collaboratively with the FOH, kitchen and bar teams to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Maintain El Planta's service standards, venue presentation and hospitality expectations throughout each shift.
• Communicate clearly and respectfully with teammates, kitchen and bar during service.
• Be proactive in supporting the team, jumping in where needed and helping keep service running smoothly.
• Have a strong understanding of the menu, drinks and venue offering, and confidently answer guest questions.
• Assist with opening and closing procedures, including setting up, cleaning, restocking and resetting the venue.
• Follow daily operational procedures, POS processes and service standards accurately.
• Maintain a clean, organised and well-presented front-of-house environment throughout service.
• Listen to guest feedback and communicate any concerns to the appropriate team member or manager.
• Be reliable, punctual and prepared for each shift, taking responsibility for your role and responsibilities.
• Contribute positively to El Planta's culture and uphold our values of teamwork, hospitality, care and consistency.

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 2 years' experience in a front-of-house leadership, or senior service role.
• Strong table service experience in a restaurant environment.
• Solid bar knowledge and experience, including cocktails, wine, beer, and spirits.
• A genuine passion for hospitality and creating great experiences for people.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.
• Ability to remain calm, organised, and positive during busy services.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
• Availability to work evenings and weekends.
• Someone who enjoys being part of a close-knit team and contributes positively to workplace culture.
